Define in your own terms and short form, what is BRISIN and why FGN is implementing it?
BRISIN is an acronym for Basic Registry and Information System in Nigeria. It is an integrated and all encompassing system for collection, storage and distribution of data and information to support the management of the economy and socio-economic development. It facilitates and guarantees regular and continuous assessment and management of population and administrative institutions in Nigeria. Data and Information in BRISIN will be accessible in Wards, Local Government Areas and States of the Federation.
Federal Government of Nigeria implements BRISIN to help the people and the government with good instrument for governance by providing a credible data on daily basis, including death and birth rates in order to support planning and policy making in Nigeria. Thus, create job opportunities for millions of Nigerians and support Government Agencies such as NIMC, INEC, FIRS, NPC, NBS, Immigration, Security: DSS, Police and more; and also help with reducing criminal activities and corruption.
How would you advice the funding of BRISIN in Nigeria, considering that 20 million Jobs can be created by implementing the system?
To fund BRISIN in Nigeria considering the job opportunities that would be created by the system, I think the fund already allocated to BRISIN by the Federal Government should be increased and it should be important to setup a BRISIN international foundation which will help to source for funds to supplement government effort. Due to the economic importance of this job and the amount of lives that it would touch, it is important that more efforts should be made to get funding from international agencies and well meaning Nigerians at home and in diaspora
What instrument would be best used to collect VAT and Tax from service economy operators?
VAT and Tax payment is greatly needed and it will be of great importance to the nation at large in helping to provide more funds which could be used to provide lots of things needed in the nation. I think to make everyone get involved in paying tax either directly or indirectly, major tax should be given to different companies or organizations to pay to enable everyone who pay buy the goods to pay part of the tax indirectly. This could make everyone contribute in paying tax instead of forcing everyone to pay certain amount for tax which many may think is a way of the Government collecting money from them.
The postponement of the presidential election was attributed to problem of logistics what do you think can be done to avoid such situation again in Nigeria?
The postponement of the presidential election was attributed to logistics problem which I think can be avoided if the INEC body change their approach of delivering electoral materials, instead of transporting materials by road, air transport should be seen as a faster, safer and effective means of disbursing or distributing electoral materials. The materials should be delivered to the central bank of Nigeria branches in all states long before the due date of the election. Also, adequate security should be provided to ensure that these materials are protected.
Cancer and other chronic health issues are connected to generating plants and old vehicle, can you explain?
Old vehicle pollutes the air, while generating plants help to remove toxic matter from the atmosphere. Air pollution is a major environmental risk to health. By reducing air pollution levels, countries can reduce the burden of disease from stroke, heart disease, lung cancer, and both chronic and acute respiratory diseases, including asthma. The lower the levels of air pollution, the better the cardiovascular and respiratory health of the population will be, both long and short term. Outdoor air pollution is a major environmental health problem affecting everyone in low, middle and high income countries.

Data harmonization is important to economic planning because it helps to develop and maintain an inventory of all of the principal components of Nigeria which will lead to an improvement on the economic aspect of society. Data harmonization in Nigeria will lead to proper integration of national and regional assets. Data harmonization in Nigeria brings about various types, levels and sources of data which is very important in decision making.
When and how do we consider accurate data and information as vital for data governance?
Accurate data and information is considered vital for data governance when the data is required to ensure that an organization information assets are formally, properly, proactively and efficiently managed throughout the country.
Data and Information are the main components of any developing or developed economy. No nation can be effective without high quality data. With accurate data and information, electoral activities will be more efficient and trusted.
It is speculated that Nigeria would be 400 million in 2050, what strategic approach would you advise Nigeria to curtail such population expansion?
The expansion of Nigeria population can be curtailed from today in so many ways: by advising young parents to reduce the number of births. If natality is reduced, the population of the country will not increase to that extent. Educating the world especially the prospective fathers and mothers would curtail the increase of population in Nigeria.
Please give 3 reasons why the political Ward is considered economic hub of a nation?
The political ward is considered the economic hub of a nation due to the following reasons:
- It is often times a focal point of political power in the region
- A political ward attracts politically motivated and those whose skill are needed for development of the economy
- A political ward plagued with crisis and insecurities can lead to slow development which would negatively affect the economy of a nation.
Decentralization is good for rural development, How?
Decentralization is good for rural development as it helps to empower or create sub-national government by allocating significant resources and authority to them. This will bring about massive development in the rural areas as it will ensure that whatever revenue generated in the area would be used for the development of such areas. It also lead to better co-ordination, cost sharing and even distribution of responsibilities among all tiers of government.
What can be done to make rural areas as attractive as urban areas?
To be rural areas as attractive as urban areas, it is important that the government provide the basic amenities, securities and job opportunities in the rural areas. It would also be good that the government implement appropriate policies that would benefit the people residing in rural areas.
