  1. Universities in Norway with Tuition Free

It is more of a general law In Norway, for the state universities and university colleges not to charge tuition fees to all students including international students. The tuition free programme is applicable to undergraduate, Masters and Ph.D. programmes. Meanwhile, students are required to pay a semester fee of NOK 300-600 each semester. Additionally, in Norway, a lot of private institutions have tuition fees for all their programmes and courses.   1. Austria (Tuition Free Universities)

For non EU/EEA student, the federal universities in Austria charge about 726.72 Euros per semester for tuition fees plus 20.20 Euros per semester for student union membership fee and the student accident insurance fee. However, there is possibility for an exemption from paying tuition fees or a full/partial refund of the tuition fees, but only in special cases which includes scholarship holders, participants in exchange programmes and university partnerships.

Living cost for students in Austria is approximately 800 Euros per month which covers accommodation, food, and personal expenses.

  1. Germany (Tuition Free Universities)

All Universities in Germany except Baden-Württemberg will not charge any tuition fees for bachelor’s and master’s degree programs for all students including international students, that’s as at 2014. Universities will charge a semester contribution of 50 euros and/or administration fees of about 50 euros. Although the way this tuition fee is planned could change subsequently. The federal state of Baden-Württemberg is currently charging tuition fees for Bachelor’s, Master’s, Diploma and state examination degree programmes with a €1,500 charge per semester for non-EU citizens.

To study in Germany, the cost is on average, students in Germany spend about 500-800 Euros for accommodation, transport, food, and miscellaneous expenses.

 Note:  Most Master’s studies in Germany come with tuition fees even though it’s relatively low. For PhD students, they’re charged tuition only after completing their first six semesters but required to pay a semester contribution of approximately 150-200 euros per semester.

  1. Finland (Tuition Free Universities and Scholarships)

In Finland, the tuition fees for non-EU/EEA students has been introduced since 2017. The various programs are Bachelor’s or Master’s programmes. However, just the Doctoral level studies will remain free of tuition fees, regardless of the student’s nationality.

Universities in Finland and offer scholarship options for talented non-EU/EEA students admitted to their fee-charging Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes. There is also EDUFI Fellowships which is available to cover living expenses for Doctoral studies for up to one academic year. The cost of studying in Finland is estimated around 700-900 Euros per month.

The only fee that is applicable to non EU/EEA students is the application and tuition fees. This fees are applicable for the studying of Bachelor’s or master’s level. International student however can enjoy certain scholarship (full/partial) tuition waiver offers by the Swedish Institute and a good number of Universities.
