Update on Npower Meeting Today as Minister Umar Farouq Sadiya meets with other Heads – The future of Npower and NSIP as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, HM Sadiya Umar Farouq, Mr. Afolabi meets with other Npower boss to discuss on the way forward and continuity of Npower. National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) as one of Africa’s largest and biggest so far in the continent is meant to be run with much assurance in accountability and transparency as the minister assured. She twitted “The program has a numerical strength close to 500,000 volunteers, helping the nation to pursue her dream of becoming a power to reckon with among the committee of nations” In addition, she said that more structural organization and reform need to be in place for a rapid response. Though there was a decline by the special adviser on Social Investment that the program is already reformed.

Discussion on Payment of October and December Stipends to Batch A and B Beneficiaries

She affirmed that they are aware of the non-payment of Batch B December Salary and Batch A October, 2019. From inscriptions, all payments will be paid before this month runs out. In finalism, Batch A Npower beneficiaries will start receiving heir October 2019 salary stipends from December 17, 2019.

Npower Transition for Batch A Beneficiaries

From the discussion they affirmed “We took a transition survey earlier and find out the various needs of each beneficiaries as regards the enhancement packages. We will thus open up the transition icon next week for each batch A beneficiaries to select the transition programme most suitable for him or her.” Indeed, there will be another opportunity for all to select the position of their choice.

Backlog of Stipends/Salary Payment

There have been lots of complaints from people of not being paid or of being owed of some months’ salary. From the discussion, all those who are still being owed backlog will be paid in due time. Subsequently, once the handover process is completed, those being owed will be detected and paid instantly.

Resignation from the Programme

There has been updates that many, over 3500 volunteers were either forcefully or unintentionally removed or exited from the Npower programme and from their discussions, they are seriously looking into it to see what could be done and update the general public later.

Update on  Npower Device Arrival, Distribution and Collection

From their discussions, there were new arrivals and updates will be given as soon as possible on when concerned beneficiaries will be called to pick their devices.

Npower 2020 Registration for New Intake

There will be new intake or new candidates will be recruited by next year, 2020. Though, before new registration will commence, transition process for Batch A beneficiaries will be completed. This is to avoid pushing some persons out while no room was created for them yet.
