Indeed, COVID-19 has revealed limits of the systems we take for granted, compromising our health, our planet, and our survival. We’ve expanded the 2020 Call for Code Global Challenge to take on COVID-19, while we remain steadfastly committed to combating climate change.
Together with David Clark Cause, IBM created Call for Code to take on pressing societal issues, which brings together developers and the greater tech ecosystem to build smart solutions that address some of the world’s most significant problems. In its third year, we are expanding the 2020 Call for Code Global Challenge to address COVID-19 in addition to Climate Change, two urgent crises that compromise our health, planet, and survival.

Important Dates to note in application for Call for Code Global Challenge:
a.) 2020 Call for Code Global Challenge is live now through July 31.
b.) April 27 – Accelerated submission deadline for the COVID-19 track.
c.) All applications submitted by April 27, 2020, at 11:59 pm PDT, which address the COVID-19 track of the 2020 Call for Code Global Challenge, will be eligible for consideration.
d.) Applications in that track must address the themes of crisis communication, remote education, or community cooperation.
e.) May 05 – Announcement of the first three COVID-19 solutions to receive deployment support
f.) July 31 – Submission Deadline for 2020 Call for Code Global Challenge (both tracks)
