The Novel Alliance for Development Aid (NADA) is a national NGO registered with Nigerian Cooperate Affair Commission as a humanitarian and development organization. The organization was founded in 2017 in Maiduguri Borno State, Nigeria by Nigerian intellectuals’ humanitarian to provide integrated humanitarian services to people and communities affected by the crisis within the country with a focus on the northeast and northwest Nigerian.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Targeting Assistant
Location: Yobe
Job Summary
- The Selected candidates will work as core team to conduct a beneficiary profiling exercise which is aimed at updating and refining the list of households and beneficiaries in IDP camps and host community locations through a verification process to account for the births and deaths of beneficiary household members, to eliminate non-valid SCOPE card records and individuals who may have left the camps or host communities.
- The Targeting assistant will technically be supervised and supported by the Project Officer.
- NADA in partnership with World Food Progrmme (WFP) for the period of three months shall implement Targeting services in Nangere, Fune, Fika, Machina, Bade, Yusufari, Yunusari, Nguru, Jakusko and Karasuwa LGAs of Yobe State.
- The overall project goal is to under the partnership with WFP, increase access to quality to food distribution, up to date data of WFP’s beneficiaries in targeted locations as well as strengthening the Prevention and Response to Violence, Abuse and Exploitation of vulnerable persons in IDP camps and host communities.
Description of Task
- Support in the training of enumerators census with the use of mobile data collecting tool.
- Classify households according to their level of vulnerability and ensure that food assistance is targeted to households based on their vulnerability.
- Digitization of the draft master lists and ensure that all columns for all household members are accurately recorded and completed.
- Establish Community registration/targeting committee based on the community context (primary, secondary and exclusion criteria).
- Ensure all the process are accurately recorded and publicly announced to all households within the community.
- Training of community targeting committee on how to use targeting criteria.
- Provide the registration format/forms to establish the draft registration master list.
- Set-up a complaints and grievance point within the targeted community.
- Involved in Community-based preliminary registration with possible household “door to door” in the case of urban area.
- Establish community registration or targeting committee and ensure are good representative for the community.
Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse:
- Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within Novel Alliance for Development Aid and amongst beneficiaries served by NADA.
Compliance & Ethics:
- Promotes and encourages a culture of compliance and ethics throughout Novel Alliance for Development Aid.
- As applicable to the position, maintain a clear understanding of Novel Alliance for Development Aids’ and donor compliance and ethics standards and adhered to those standard.
- Conducts work with the highest level of integrity.
Qualifications and Experience
- Higher National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Food Security, Agriculture, Social Sciences, Economics, Social Work related discipline and at least two years of professional experience in food and cash assistance interventions. Experience in northeast Nigeria is an added advantage
- Fluency in speaking and understanding English, Kanuri and Hausa.
Required Skills:
- Experience in community mobilization and sensitization.
- Good computer skills especially Word, Excel and Access. Knowledge of other databases is preferred.
- Attention to detail and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Fluent in English, Hausa, and Kanuri.
- Capacity to work under stressful situations.
- Strong organizational and time management skills and capacity to coordinate work across multiple departments.
- Good human relations and diplomacy.
- Possess a high analytical capacity.
- Demonstrate critical thinking.
