Solar Decathlon Africa Design Competition 2024
Applications are open to young African innovators who want to showcase their creativity, interact with like-minded colleagues, and positively impact the future of Africa’s built environment. The applications will conclude on February 29, and candidates are asked to submit their initial designs by March 18.
The U.S. Mission in Nigeria is pleased to announce the Solar Decathlon Africa Design Competition 2024 which is open to all undergraduate and graduate students in Nigeria. Organized by IRESEN (Morocco’s renewable energy institute) and through an agreement with the U. S. Department of Energy, the Solar Decathlon Africa Design Competition challenges students to design residential and commercial buildings powered by renewable energy.
The U.S. Embassy encourages collegiate teams of undergraduate and/or graduate students anywhere in the world specializing in architecture, engineering, construction management, and other related disciplines to enter the competition with a faculty advisor.
Application closing date: February 29th 2024
Finalist teams will present their final designs to a panel of expert jurors at the competition to be held in Ben Guerir, Morocco on June 6.
