The Danish Foreign Service comprises the Ministry in Copenhagen and a global network abroad of Embassies, Consulates-General, and Trade Commissions.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:

About the Job
Do you have a passion for business development and building long-term strategic partnerships with a focus on water and the environment?
The Consulate General of Denmark in Lagos is looking for a dynamic and strategic-thinking commercial advisor to join our Trade Team.
Roles Responsibilities
Provide consultancy services to Danish companies tailored to their needs and the opportunities in Nigeria (e.g. market research, stakeholder mappings and engagement, partner searches, marketing etc.)
Drive business development with a special focus on water and the environment.
Maintain and develop a strategic local network to identify concrete opportunities for commercial collaboration between Danish and local stakeholders.
Work with Government and Public Affairs and facilitate trade relationship between Denmark and Nigeria.
Proactively take charge of lead generation and outreach to Denmark- and Nigeria-based clients.
Take the lead on information research and prepare digital content, including Nigeria market insights on water and environment sector-specific analysis for Danish companies looking to export to Nigeria and establish themselves locally.
Plan and execute company events and business delegations between Denmark and Nigeria.
Promote local market opportunities for Danish companies (SoMe, webinars, etc).
Contribute towards Danish Trade Council cooperation for Sub-Saharan Africa and be a part of the Regional Water and Environment Team.
Work closely with colleagues at the Embassy of Denmark in Abuja on specific assignments.
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
A relevant Degree in Business Development, International Marketing, Economics, or similar
At least 5 years of professional experience with progressing responsibility
IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office skills
Team player as well as a keen interest and willingness to share knowledge with – and learn from – colleagues
Proactive, intuitive, and dedicated with high adaptability
Solid business experience, preferably with some international business background, and experience in engaging with stakeholders and decision-makers at the top levels of both the private and public sector
Focus sector experience is not a requirement but is a plus
A commercial mindset, but can also work with government stakeholders
Fluency in English – spoken and written
Strong network in the Nigerian business ecosystem
Excellent communication skills – an effective cross-cultural communicator
Ability to work results-oriented with KPIs
