WAEC Examination Date: See WASSCE Date for Candidates 2020 – Amidst Covid-19, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) announced date for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) 2020. This is to enable all registered candidates for the 2020 WAEC examination to get ready as it the examination commences.
This information on resumption or commencement of WAEC examination was revealed by the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba. He disclosed this on Monday during the briefing by the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 in Abuja.
As school reopens on August 4th 2020 for exiting classes; Primary six, JSS3 and SS3 classes, WAEC as well fix their own examination date.

When will WAEC Examination 2020 start?
Emeka Nwajuiba said that WAEC examination for graduating students 2020 will now hold from August 17 till 5th September 2020 that is one month exercise. See how he responded to it below;
“From the 17th of August to the 5th of September. Parents, please take note.
When will NECO and NABTEB examination 2020 start
The Minister of Education furthered said that a decision on when the National Examinations Council, NECO, National Business and Technical Examinations Board, NABTEB, will be taken after the WASSCE. See how he said it below;
“As soon as we conclude WAEC we will take up NABTEB and NECO exams.
Further comments of the Minister as regards to resumption and WAEC examination 2020
“Last week the chairman of the PTF announced that school facilities will be available for those who want to go into revision classes.
”The idea here is that we have a whole month from now till then (the exam).
“Those who can, the states who are willing should make their schools available for their children to revise.
“We have done the most we can with our representative at WAEC and it has been confirmed that the date allotted will be from the 17th of August through to the 5th of September. Local timings will be published.”

Advise of the Minister to all Candidates
“We will be asking that those who are not prepared yet should please go and prepare.
“We are continuing with registrations for NECO for those who have not concluded registration along those lines, this is the time also to update and get your registration done,” he added.
