NALDA Back-to-Farm Recruitment 2020: How to Apply for NALDA Mechanized Farming Training – There is a new initiative from the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) over the training of NYSC members and others on mechanized farming under a category called Back to Farm initiative 2020. Back-to-farm is initiated to help in increasing food production in Nigeria and as well create more job opportunities.

According to the President of Senate, Ahmad Lawan, the National Agricultural Land Development Authority NALDA, a back-to-farm initiative when assist in boosting food production and job creation for young Nigerians

This new development was publicized on Saturday through the Executive Secretary, NALDA, Prince Paul Ikonne, during a virtual meeting with the Director-General, NYSC, Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, and management.

The partnership will be of enormous benefit to NYSC members who most at times end up in the labour market waiting for white-collar jobs, but with the Back-To-Farm initiative basically designed for Nigerian youth, it would add value to their lives and secure their future as entrepreneurs along various value chains in the agricultural sector and contribute to the growth and development of the economy.

NALDA has designed a programmed called the “Back-to-Farm” which intended to in-cooperate NYSC members having great numbers among the Nigerian youth and since about  350,000 corps are mobilized annually, which they would be actively engaged in agricultural training and incentives

The NYSC DG applaud the FG for the initiative and for partnering with NYSC through NALDA.

Ikonne also expressed the NALDA is ready to partner with NYSC to train corps members on new farming techniques with value chain benefits that would make them self-employed, increase produce food for the country, create wealth for themselves and also be an employer of labour.

He said: “This is part of the agency’s mandate towards the implementation of the Federal Government’s agenda to ensure food sufficiency and diversify the nation’s economy.”

“The programme would enable Corps Members to engage in profitable mechanized farming.”

The NALDA boss also added that NYSC Farms across the country could be used as training ground for corps members once the initiative begins.

All perspective corps members or already corps members should have this at the back of their mind that soon a new portal would be launched or preferably www.nalda.ng would be used for the registration exercise.
