COVID-19: List of Nigeria Governors that have tested positive for Coronavirus – Records have shown the list of Nigeria Governors that have tested positive in Coronavirus (Covid19). Full list of Nigerian Governors that have tested positive in Covid-19 are outlined in this article below. This list comprises of those recovered and those that are yet to recover.

List of Nigeria Governors that have tested positive for Coronavirus (Covid-19)

The list of Nigeria Governors that have tested positive for coronavirus include;

  1. Nasir el-Rufai
  2. Bala Mohammed
  3. Seyi Makinde
  4. Rotimi Akeredolu
  5. Ifeanyi Okowa
  6. David Umahi
  7. Kayode Fayemi

Dates Nigeria Governors contracted Covid-19

So far, seven (7) Nigerian governors have contracted the novel coronavirus, but some have recovered.

On December 17, 2020, Simon Lalong, Plateau State Governor, tested positive for COVID-19. This was made known to us by the Director of Press and Publicity to the governor, Dr Makut Macham, in a statement on Thursday.

On December 12, 2020, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos State Governor, tested positive for Coronavirus after he went into isolation a day before.

On Wednesday, July 22, 2020, Kayode Fayemi, Ekiti state governor, tested positive to Coronavirus but recovered on August 01, 2020, after he spent 11 days in isolation centre.

On Saturday, July 4, David Umahi, Ebonyi State Governor, announced that he had tested positive for COVID-19.

Nasir El- Rufai, Kaduna State Governor, was the first governor to be confirmed to have been infected with Coronavirus and he recovered in April.

On March, 2020, Bala Mohammed, Bauchi State Governor, was infected with coronavirus and was reported to have recovered on the 9th of April.

On 30th March, 2020, Seyi Makinde, Oyo State Governor, announced that he tested positive and his recovery was reported on the 5th of April.

On June 30, 2020, Rotimi Akeredolu, Ondo State Governor, tested positive to covid-19.

On July 1, 2020, Ifeanyi Okowa , Delta State governor, tested positive to covid-19 alongside his wife.

Coronavirus is real and there is second wave of Covid-19 in Nigeria as the number of those that contacted the virus increases everyday. So far, 76,207 persons have contacted the virus, 67,110 persons recovered while 1,201 died.
