Self-Certification Forms Filling in Nigeria Banks as ordered by FG – This is to inform the general public on the self-certification forms ordered to be filled by all Nigerians that has an account in Banks, Insurance Companies etc.  Persons holding accounts in different financial institutions are required to complete and submit the form to their banks.

Essence of Self-Certification Forms

The forms are required by the relevant financial institutions to carry out due diligence procedures in line with the Income Tax.

Categories of Self-Certification Form

The self-certification form is in 3 categories:

• Form for Entity
• For Controlling Person (Individuals having controlling interest in a legal person, trustee, etc)
• Form for individual

Note: The FG warned that failure to comply may include monetary penalty or inability to operate the account.

This update on Self-certificate forms was made known to the public through the Federal Government social media account on Thursday.

It stated, “This is to notify the general public that all account holders in Financial Institutions (Banks, Insurance Companies, etc) are required to obtain, complete and submit Self – Certification Forms to their respective Financial Institutions. Persons holding accounts in different financial institutions are required to complete & submit the form to each one of the institutions. The forms are required by the relevant financial institutions to carry out due diligence procedures in line with the Income Tax Regulations 2019.”

To complete your self-Certification form, kindly go to your bank and ask of self-certification form

Fill the form with your right details and submit it to the bank for upload
