What to do if JAMB Score is Low and tips to get admission this year – Is your JAMB Score very low and you really want to get admission? Are you afraid of not being admitted this year? This article is indeed for you. It is one thing to write JAMB Examination and it is another thing to score well and get admission to your desired school as well as your desired course. Some scored very high while some scored very low. It is possible and highly acceptable. The person that scored low could be intelligent but due to unforeseen circumstances, the reverse was the case, and is an objective question, so there is great room for anyone to pass whether prepared or not. Vital Steps and Tips that would help you get admission this year

Take or write your JAMB Examination

After taking or writing JAMB examination, there is possibility of scoring above 180 or below 180. You do not have to kill yourself as there is hope for you. If you choose Medicine and Surgery for instance and you selected University of Benin (Uniben). Always have this in mind, the course you have chosen is a competitive course or department – that is to say that the rush for that department is much. Many have spent five to six years searching for admission in that particular department. It is same with some other departments. The question now is what do you do?

Check your JAMB Score or Result and Print it Out

When you have seen and printed your JAMB score or result online, Confirm the cut off mark of the Department and School. If maybe you scored 210 for instance and the Cut off mark is 200. Ask yourself; How many persons could have scored higher than me? How many persons are they going to admit? How many persons would be picked from JAMB and how many from remedial programme (Predegree i.e. Basic or certificate programme). Deep down, you would know that 210 will not be a better score for Medicine and Surgery in a school like Uniben where many would score as good as 280 and above still not certain of being admitted. But if your score is very high, just prepare and wait for the post utme. If your score is not good for the course you chose and you wish to enter school this year, follow the next step or outline (this is for people who really want to leave house, that is they want to get admission.

Change to a lower department that has the same JAMB Subject combination

Before POST UTME starts, rush immediately and do JAMB change of course or even change of institution if the school is not offering the second choice course you wish to change to. For instance, if you select a course like Biochemistry or Microbiology (not compulsory), during POST UTME write and try your best. Believe you will be admitted. What do I mean or why am I so certain or sure? More preference would be given to you that chose Biochemistry or Microbiology first than those that chose Medicine and Surgery and did not meet up, thereby looking forth to be admitted in any closer department. That is to say you will be considered more than those that are would be fixed in from other faculties and departments, notwithstanding their score. Do your normal school registration and pay fees then do this

You can actually, transfer from the department you are admitted, to another department i.e. Medicine and Surgery, if your CGPA (Cumulative Grade Point Average) is very high maybe up to 4.0 and above. But, be very careful during Transfer to avoid losing. Check for the terms and conditions and see what to do. Also, if there is money, I would advise while in level 100, pick another JAMB form, choosing the course, Medicine and Surgery. Believe, you will do well in JAMB because you have had a taste of it and you really know what you want. Fight and press with a strong mindset of success and I believe if your performances are very excellent that would adjudge qualify you to the department, you will definitely be admitted to the department of MEDICINE AND SURGERY. Hallelujah… You can as well Graduate from the department you were initially admitted into, then apply for Medicine and Surgery, thereby having two qualifications at the end.
