This has been the prayer of every NYSC prospective corps members for the allawee to be increased. Actually, as FG approved approved the new minimum wage, the new NYSC Batch A, B, C Allawee is now 33,000 Naira (Thirty Three Thousand Naira). This information was brought to us by Mr Enang, during the State House correspondents briefing, he said that the implementation of the new law of N30,000 minimum wage starts immediately. This simply means that the salary increase is likely to begin by month end.
There is no certainty yet on this. Though the law is for all NYSC corps members and prospective corps members, that is NYSC 2018 and NYSSC 2019 corps members. We believe and hope that the new payment of N33,000 will be paid to both serving (2018 corpers) and yet to serve (2019 prospective corps members).
There is indeed new payment or allawee as the new allawee is approved or is increased to N33,000. What we mean, is the addition of the state payment and the main Federal allawee. For a state like Niger State, when the payment of N33,000 is added to their state allawee which is N6,000, every corps members will receive a total amount of N39,000 every month.
