NYSC Deployment to Foreign ECOWAS Countries: How to choose West African Countries for Youth Service

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have been advised to utilize the provisions of the ECOWAS Free Movement for the deployment of Corps Members across Member States – Prof. Oka Obono, Lecturer, University of Ibadan.

NYSC Corps members serving in ECOWAS States or West African Countries will reduce unemployment among the youth and also curb the increasing rate of social vices among them.

Deploying corps members to ECOWAS countries which include; Benin, Burkina Faso, Cabo Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, and Togo, will expand operations to West African region thereby reducing internal graduate unemployment and reduce pressures on the Nigerian Labour Market.

All PCMs (Prospective Corps Members) should be getting ready as soon they would be deployed to West African Countries.

Has NYSC started posting corps members to ECOWAS Countries?

The appraisal has not yet been approved but it has been put into consideration. Possibly, NYSC Batch B/C 2021 or Batch A 2022 will be deployed to foreign countries, West African Countries (ECOWAS).

During the stage of selection of States/countries to serve, kindly select the country you wish to serve.

Note: Each candidate will be allowed to choose one ECOWAS Country, one North, one West, One South and One East. In all you will only be deployed to the one NYSC will select or choose from the selected ones.

This serving in Foreign countries or ECOWAS will be for those that are yet to register.
