NYSC Place of Primary Assignment (PPA) is a place where you perform the duty of serving your father land. This is done after your three (3) weeks in camp. It is compulsory as you need a place to work and show contribution during your service year. This is the reason why the authority of your PPA will have to rate you when are done with them.
No, you will be assigned PPA at the end of Camp-Passing-Out-Parade (POP).
There are good number of places where you can do your PPA. You may be posted to schools (Primary, Secondary, Colleges of Education, Polytechnics, Universities), Hospital, Clinic, Government ministries and Parastatals, Private companies/firms excluding oil companies, Shipping companies and Banks except on special cases.
A place of Primary Assignment (PPA) can reject you based on different reasons. However, the common ones are lack of accommodation, lack of space, too many corps members, lack of facilities, not having enough money to pay and so on.
I know it sounds bad or negative to the hearing but it still has lots of benefits. If you are rejected from one PPA, you will have the opportunity of looking out for a more conducive PPA by yourself. And perhaps, one with a higher pays. Rejecting will pave way for you to find a suitable place for yourself.
Yes, you surely can. Just that it’s not always as easy as when you have not been accepted at all. For you to be changed in this situation, you must be able to present a really genuine and important reason or excuse to NYSC.
It is possible, one could be rejected after being accepted at the place of primary assignment. There was a scenario where corps members who were posted to a school and were warmly accepted but were rejected a few months towards the end of the one year youth service. Note: Your boss will write NYSC by himself. It is not your concern. This happens only in rare cases.
Yes you can but it can be very stressful. You may have to report at your present local government, after they have given you permission, then you will open a file at the new local government. But, it’s easier said than done.
Yes, you do have rights. Your posting letter from NYSC camp stated that you are to be addressed as a staff that’s one of your entitlements. Therefore you have all the rights of a staff in anywhere you are posted as your PPA.
What if my PPA refuses to reject me after staying with them for some time?
If PPA refuses to reject you, kindly; write a “change of PPA letter” to NYSC. If they still do not do anything about it, be persistent in writing and complaining to them. Never give up in writing letter to NYSC. Keep disturbing them with your letter till you are been responding to.
If you are rejected, and you wish to get a particular PPA for yourself, kindly look for a good place by yourself. Negotiate terms with them and collect an acceptance letter and take it to your local government. They will then continue from there.
There are two things required of you to do. You can either stand and fight for yourself or report the case to your LI or LGI. If it is critical, you can call the state coordinator into it. But it’s advisable to go through your LI and expect the situation to be fixed immediately.
No, you cannot. You are only entitled to serve your country via the state you are posted
Yes, it is very much possible. Some places can retain you and make you their staff if you impress them enough. Also, you can apply to continue working with them if you want by simply writing an application letter to your PPA when you are through. You can even discuss it with your boss while serving.
Not really, but can request for a sick leave, if you are critically ill. You will have to address a letter for sick leave to your PPA. Similarly, during your CDS, you get one (1) day off in a week from your PPA to do your CDS work.
