The Oasis Africa Consulting Limited – Our client is a prominent player in the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry, the company’s operations span across major businesses in the Oil and Gas value chain.

They are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: CEO – Downstream Oil & Gas Business

Location: Jakande, Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

Our client currently requires a commercially astute MD/CEO to lead its downstream business:

  • To ensure the effective management, growth and profitability of business units (Retail Sales, Commercial Sales, Depot and Trading Operations). To drive compliance with governance, risk management and effectiveness standards and recommendations across the business units.
  • Works with heads of sub-business units / departments to define strategic direction and ensures that their business strategies are aligned with the Group’s vision and strategic imperatives
  • Ensures that the Company’s strategic objectives are translated into specific business targets and agrees the mechanisms and timelines for measuring progress
  • Monitors and regularly reports on the financial and operational performance to the Board
  • Oversees the execution of core business capital and expenditure initiatives i.e. including, retail and commercial business expansion
  • Prepares and implements the annual budget for the business and monitors performance to ensure that variances are minimized.
  • Leads the development and consistent implementation of relevant practices, policies and standards across core businesses.
  • Monitors and drives compliance with relevant industry and regulatory provisions
  • Allocates resources as required by the various businesses to ensure achievement of set targets
  • Engages with the external communities, government agencies and other relevant stakeholders operations to ensure smooth running of operations
  • Ensures adequate training and performance management support is provided for the development of staff
  • Facilitates the establishment of new businesses and expansion programmes for existing core businesses

Minimum Qualification

  • Interested candidate should possess a  Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Finance, Economics or Business related discipline
  • Minimum of 18 years post-qualification experience in the Oil & Gas industry (preferable downstream) out of which 7 years must have been spent at an Executive or Senior management level
  • Professional membership of a relevant body or institution in the Oil & Gas industry
  • Evidence of strong industry / sector participation

Desirable:

  • A postgraduate qualification, preferably an MBA or Relevant Master’s Degree

Job Title: Group Head – Treasury & Investment Management

Location: Jakande, Lekki, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • To ensure availability and adequacy of funds to finance the Group’s operations, as well as the effective management and accounting for Group funds.
  • Advises management and provides inputs on the funding and cash-flow implications of the Corporate strategy, goals and plans
  • Analyses the Group’s need for cash to ensure that adequate funds are available to meet day-to-day operational petty cash expenses and emergencies.
  • Manages bank balances, interest income and expenses
  • Enforces policies and procedures to ensure that the company’s liabilities are minimized and payments promptly settled in line with agreed terms
  • Facilitates prompt payments to Group’s vendors and other creditors by ensuring availability of funds
  • Builds and maintains relevant banking relationships to ensure availability of funds, secure favorable banking terms and rates and proper management of the Group’s accounts
  • Monitors and reporting on the prices and rates available on banking products and services (investments, currencies etc.) and making them available as required.
  • Manages the treasury impress account and maintaining records to allow easy disbursement, reconciliation and replenishment.
  • Monitors and reporting on cash surpluses and deficits.
  • Reviews bank statements daily to ascertain correctness of charges, commissions and posted transactions.
  • Processes updates to bank accounts mandates and processes new account opening forms.
  • Executes accepted bank facility offer by collating required documents for submission to the banks.
  • Manages Letters of Credit processing, correspondences and reporting (as well as other credit facilities)
  • Follows up with bank to resolve any issues experienced in accessing banking facilities.
  • Oversees the preparation of monthly bank reconciliation statement and other assigned reports e.g. cash flow reports etc.
  • Advises management on investment decisions

Minimum Qualification

  • Candidate must have First Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or any related discipline
  • At least 8 years relevant experience, 3 of which must have been in a Management position of an organisation, interfacing with the Executive team and Financial partners
  • Relevant professional certifications e.g. Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or its equivalent
  • Experience in similar role, banking and knowledge of statutory financial reporting and knowledge of GAAP, IFRS

Desirable:

  • MBA or Master’s Degree in a related discipline

Job Title: Financial Strategy & Business Experience Analyst

Job Description

Our client currently requires an astute Financial Analyst for its downstream business:

  • To aid the coordination of strategic planning, execution and monitoring process across the Group and delivery of agreed projects in accordance with defined parameters and timelines.
  • Assist in identifying and evaluating new markets and product prospects.
  • Supplying the aid with the coordination of strategic planning, execution and monitoring process across the Group and delivery of agreed projects in accordance with defined parameters and timelines.
  • In identifying and evaluating new markets and product prospects.
  • Seeking out avenues for business expansion and following up on leads
  • Provides input into the corporate strategy planning process, coordinates the execution of agreed and approved strategies
  • Liaises with Business Unit Heads on execution and reporting on strategic initiatives
  • Perform feasibility studies and market research on proposed strategic investments e.g. potential of new and existing locations by preparing/reviewing financial models
  • Assist in running corporate strategy workshops
  • Prepares monthly reports on key corporate of businesses generated through promotional activities and new business opportunities
  • Conducts business research and intelligence activities to advice on corporate strategy.
  • Reviews and updates policy and procedures manuals group-wide based on identified improvement opportunities
  • Performs periodic review of enterprise-wide risks and internal controls for adequacy and improvement opportunities
  • Prepares business proposals/bids and presentations
  • Analyzes financial and other data, including revenue, expenditure, and employment reports
  • Attends meeting with and responds to queries from government / regulatory bodies
  • Participate in exhibitions, trade shows and industry forums
  • Monitors and reports on progress on execution of corporate initiatives

Minimum Qualification

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Social Sciences or any other relevant discipline
  • Relevant of  three (3) years’ post-NYSC experience in a similar role or in a management consulting firm.
  • ICAN, ACCA, PMP or any other similar professional certification is an advantage
