QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  1. LIBRARIAN CADRE
  • Librarian 11- CONPCASS 02 (CONTEDISS 8)

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science (BLS) NYSC discharge or exemption certificate and must be computer literate.

  • Librarian 1- CONPCASS 03 (CONTEDISS 9)

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree (minimum of second class lower division) in Library Science (BLS) with at least three years post qualification cognate experience or master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) with evidence of scholarly publication in reputable Journals and must be computer literate.

  1. Library Officers Cadre (Non-Teaching)
  2. Assistant Library Officer – CONTEDISS 6

Candidate must possess a National Diploma at credit level in Library and Information Science/Technology and must be computer literate.

  1. Library Officer – CONTEDISS 07

Candidate must possess a National Diploma at credit level in Library and Information Science/Technology with at least three years post qualification experience and must be computer literate.

  • Higher Library Officer – CONTEDISS 08

Candidate must possess a Higher National Diploma at credit level in Library and Information Science/Technology with NYSC discharge or exemption certificate and must be computer literate.

  1. SENIOR LECTURER – CONPCASS 07 (CONTEDISS 13)

Candidate must have a Doctorate degree in a relevant discipline with a least 9 years of Teaching/Research or industrial work experience in a recognized higher institution of learning or industry plus five articles published in reputable journals in the relevant area of study, and six conference papers, or holder of Master’s degree in relevant discipline with 12 years teaching/research or industrial work experience in a recognized higher institution of learning with three conference papers, three journal articles or contribution of two chapters in a standard textbook(s). Membership in a relevant professional bodies is mandatory.

  1. LECTURER 1 – CONPCASS 06 (CONTEDISS 12)

Candidate must possess a Doctorate degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution of higher learning plus three years of Teaching/Research or Industrial work experience plus three journal articles published in reputable journals in the relevant area of study and four conference papers, or holder of Master’s Degree with six years Teaching/Research or Industrial work experience, two articles published in a reputable journal(s) plus two conference papers. Membership in a relevant professional body is mandatory.

  1. LECTURER 11 – CONPCASS 4 (CONTEDISS 11)

Candidate must possess a Doctorate degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution of higher learning plus three articles published in reputable journals and three conference papers or holder of a Master’s degree with two articles published in a reputable journal(s) plus six years of teaching/research or industrial work experience. Membership of relevant professionals will be an advantage.

  1. LECTURER 111 – CONPCASS 3 (CONTEDISS 9)

Candidate must have a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution of higher learning, one article published in a reputable journal, plus at least one conference paper.

  1. ASSISTANT LECTURER – CONPCASS 02 (CONTEDISS 8)

Candidate must have a good Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline plus an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Evidence of scholarly publications in reputable journals will be an added advantage. Membership in a relevant professional body is mandatory.

  1. INSTRUCTOR – CONPCASS 02 (CONTEDISS 8)

Candidate must possess Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution with an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate and proven evidence of outstanding contributions to technical/vocational education.

  1. LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST 11 – CONPCASS 2 (CONTEDISS 8)

Candidate must possess Higher National Diploma in a relevant discipline at credit level plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

  1. TECHNICIAN – CONTEDISS 6

Candidate must possess National Diploma or Technical Certificate at credit level in a relevant field.

  1. PROGRAMME/SYSTEM ANALYST 11 – CONTEDISS 8

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma in Computer Science (minimum of Second Class Honours, (Lower Division/Lower Credit) plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (minimum of Second Class (Honours) Lower Division/ Lower Credit), NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, and must be computer literate.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Academic Planning Officer 11 – CONTEDISS 08

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized higher institution of learning in Educational Management and Planning, Business Administration, Management, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Curriculum Studies, NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, and must be computer literate.

  • Entrepreneurship Officer 11CONTEDISS 08

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s Degree/Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognized higher Institution of learning in Entrepreneurship/Business Studies plus an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.  Possession of a Relevant Master’ degree is an added advantage and one must be Computer Literate.

  • Administrative Officer 11 – CONTEDISS 08

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree (minimum of Second Honours, Lower Division) preferably in the Arts, Social Sciences, or Humanities, NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, and must be computer literate. Membership in an appropriate professional body is an added advantage.

  • Higher Executive Officer (Administration/Accounts) CONTEDISS 7

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in the Arts/Social Sciences, Humanities, or Accounts/Finance, NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, and must be computer literate.

  • Executive Officer – CONTEDISS 06

Candidate must possess National Diploma at credit level in a relevant discipline.

  • Chief Public Relations Officer – CONTEDISS 11

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s Degree (minimum of Second Class Honours, Lower Division) or Master’s degree preferably in the Arts, Social Sciences, or Humanities with specialization in Mass Communication, Journalism or Advertising, and Public Relations and six years post qualification cognate experience. Must be computer literate and a member of an appropriate professional body.

  • Information Resources Management Officer – CONTEDISS 08

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Computer Science (Minimum of Second Class Honours Lower Division/Lower Credit) plus NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

  • Confidential Secretary 111 – CONTEDISS 06

Candidates must possess a National Diploma in Office Technology and Management or Secretarial studies at a credit level.

  • Clerical Officer – CONTEDISS 03

Candidates must possess Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalent with at least four credit level passes including the English Language obtained at one sitting or five credits at two sittings.

  • Accountant/Auditor 11 – CONTEDISS 08

Candidates must possess a good Bachelor’s Degree/Higher National Diploma in Accounting or Finance (minimum of Second Class Honours, Lower Division/credit) and an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Must be computer literate and a member of an appropriate professional body (ICAN, ANAN) is an advantage.

  • Legal Officer – CONTEDISS 9

Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) and Barrister-at-law (BL) certificate and call to the Nigeria Bar as Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court of Nigeria with an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

  • Calligrapher – CONTEDISS 08

Candidate must possess Higher National Diploma in Graphic Design plus an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Must be computer literate.

Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) degree and be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

  • Pharmacist – CONHESS 08

Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (B.Pharm) and be registered with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria and NYSC Discharge or exemption certificate.

  • Nursing Officer/Staff Nurse /Staff Midwife – (CONHESS 08/07)

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree in Nursing plus registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) or a staff Nurse/Midwife with a Nigerian registered Nurse (Nigerian Registered Midwife) (NRM) certificate.

  • Medical Laboratory ScientistCONHESS 08

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, be registered with the Institute of Medical Laboratory Scientists (IMLS), and NYSC discharge or exemption certificate. Must be computer literate.

  • Medical Laboratory Technician – CONTEDISS 6

Candidate must possess a National Diploma/National Technical Certificate at the credit level.

  • Pharmacy Technician – CONTEDISS 06

Candidate must possess a National Diploma or National Technical Certificate at the credit level.

  • Health Records Assistant – CONTEDISS 04

Candidate must possess WASC/SSCE/NECO and National Certificate of the Nigerian Health Records Association/Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria having completed training in a recognized health institution.

  • Auxiliary Nurse – CONHESS 03

Candidate must possess FSLC/JSC or a minimum of 5 credit passes including English Language and Mathematics in WASC/NECO and must have a training certificate in Auxiliary Nursing from a certified Health Institution/Hospital.

Candidate must possess a recognized National Diploma at credit level in relevant Science/Engineering discipline or City and Guilds Final Certificate, National Diploma, NCE (Technical) or NABTEB (Advance) in relevant technical field and must be computer literate.

  • Physical Planning Officer -CONTEDISS 08

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Architecture from a recognized University, NYSC discharge or exemption certificate; be registered with the relevant professional body, and must be computer literate.

  • Quantity Surveyor 11 – CONTEDISS 08

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree or Higher National Diploma in Quantity Surveying from a recognized University and NSYC discharge or exemption certificate. Candidates must be computer literate and have membership in the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and/or the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors.

  • Builder 1 – CONTEDISS 08

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree in Building or Building Technology from a recognized higher institution and register able with the Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON), Membership of the Nigeria Institute of Builders (NIB), and NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

  • Procurement Officer 11 – CONTEDISS 08

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Finance, Purchasing and Supply, or any other relevant discipline and NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

  • Motor Driver – CONTEDISS 03

Candidate must have FSLC or Secondary or Junior Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with a valid class C Driver’s License or Government Trade Test 111 and satisfactory post-qualification driving experience.

  • Motor Driver/Mechanic 11 – CONTENDISS 03

Candidate must have FSLC, Secondary or Junior Secondary School Certificate or its equitant with a valid class C Driver’s license plus Government Trade Test 111 Motor Mechanic Works.

  • Transport Officer – CONTEDISS 08

Candidate must possess Higher National Diploma in Transportation Planning and Logistics or any relevant discipline performing duties and taking charge of transport in the disposition and supervision of staff and vehicles in the Technical Section.

  • Security Officer – CONTEDISS 08

Candidate must possess a good Bachelor’s degree in Law, Criminology, Social Works Psychology or any other relevant discipline with an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate or an ex-police officer not below the rank of ASP with at least 5 years cognate experience or ex-police inspector with 10 years cognate experience.

Candidate must be an ex-police officer not below the rank of ASP with at least 2 years of cognate experience or an ex-police inspector with 7 years of cognate experience.

Candidate must have a good Bachelor’s Degree (Minimum of Second Class Honours, Lower Division) in Physical and Health Education, Nigeria Certificate in Education (Physical and Health Education). Possession of a National Institution for Sports Grade 11 coaching certificate is an advantage.

Candidate must possess National Technical Certificate or its equivalent and Government Trade Test Certificate Grade 11, performs duties that require fabrication, processing, installation, maintenance, repairs, or inspection of buildings, furniture, electrical/mechanical system, vehicles, mobile and stationary machines and other materials and equipment on a specific task including maintenance of lawns and gardens.

Candidate must possess National Diploma in Photography or videography from a recognized institution and must be computer literate.

Conditions of Service for Port Harcourt Polytechnic Recruitment

All successful candidates will be placed on probation for two (2) years of continuous service on the assumption of duties to the retiring age of 65 years. Persons above 50 years of age need not apply. Other conditions of service are similar to those obtainable in the Polytechnic in Nigeria regulated by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Rivers State Public Service.
