EPL Reviews – It was another round of thrilling action  in the Premier League, today, which saw Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes score a penalty after full time.

Manchester United were lucky enough to pick up their first win of the new Premier League season in a match full of drama at the Amex Stadium this afternoon.

Brighton opened the scoring from the penalty spot after Tariq Lamptey had been brought down by Bruno Fernandes and Neal Maupay made no mistake as he chipped the ball past David De Gea on 40 minutes.

United however leveled the scores through a Lewis Dunk own goal. Rashford put the visitors ahead in the 55th minute with a brilliant solo effort aided by a Bruno Fernandes pass from the halfway line.

It looked like Rashford’s strike was going to be enough to give United the victory as Brighton laboured to find a goal—hitting the woodwork five times in the process with three of those coming from Leandro Trossard who equaled Cristiano Ronaldo’s record from 2006. Solly March however headed home in the 95th minute to restore parity.

Brighton thought they had held on for a valuable point as Referee Chris Kavanagh blew the final whistle following a United corner, but a last-gasp Bruno Fernandes penalty was enough to seal the win for United after VAR picked up that Maupay had blocked a Harry Maguire header with his hand.

United and Brighton meet again in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup at the Amex Stadium in four days time.

Everton however maintained their perfect start to the new season as they remain unbeaten in three games. Goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison were enough to earn the toffees the much deserved win.

Everton have started the season with three successive wins for the first time since the 1993/94 season and Everton are top of the table.

Chelsea escaped an early scare from West Brom as they made a spectacular 2nd half comeback to overturn a three goal deficit to rescue a point at the Hawthorns Stadium.

West Brom took the lead early in the fourth minute with an arrowed finish from Callum Robinson. 25 minutes later, he pounced on a loose touch by Thiago Silva to double the lead. Kyle Bartley was on target as he compounded the blues woes in the first half.

Chelsea duly responded in the 2nd half with goals from Mason Mount, Hudson-Odoi and Tammy Abraham ensuring the visitors went home with a point.

An early Danny Ings goal was all Southampton needed to secure a much needed win against Burnley at the Turf Moor. Ings struck five minutes into the game against his former club and the Saints held on till the end for the win.

More action continues tomorrow with  Guardiola’s City hosting Leicester at the Etihad. Tottenham face Newcastle, Sheffield hosts Leeds while Wolverhampton Wanderers face West Ham.
