About Michael Taiwo

When the Michael Taiwo Annual scholarship was advertised on October 1 st , 2019, between 100 and 150 applications were expected. Instead, in just a week, over 1,000 applications were received. This is even more remarkable given that no amount was spent on advertising: the announcement was shared by people on social media, WhatsApp groups and word of mouth. The applications came from all six geopolitical zones in Nigeria, so the desire for graduate studies in the US and Canada has a national spread.

Successful candidates will be supported on a fully funded scholarship that will cover all expenses of;

Requirements for Undergraduate Scholarship Qualification

• The applicant must be between 17 and 25 years of age.
• Must be from a low-income family.
• Must have secured admission into a public university in Nigeria to study a course in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) or Law.
• Must be a resident of Ajegunle.

Documents Required for Application

In this application, you will be required to upload the following documents:

• SSCE certificate
• Jamb result
• Admission Letter
• Identification Card (NIN, International Passport, Voters card, Drivers License).
• Also, you will need to upload two letters of recommendation. Your recommenders must include at least one individual who taught or supervised you in secondary school (i.e teacher, or principal), and one Ajegunle community stakeholder that can testify about your personality.
