UNIPORT Final Year Clearance Processes: Steps on How to do your final year clearance for NYSC – This article is written to guide all University of Port Harcourt Latest Graduates on the steps to do their Final Year Clearance without much stress. This guidelines leads you till you get to the stage of NYSC Mobilization for National Youth Service. Kindly follow the steps and guidelines provided below to do your clearance amicably.

Clearance simply put is an official authorization for something to proceed or take place. For you to leave the school, you ought to be cleared. Final year clearance is a clearance done within the school to show that you are not owing any course (fail any course), school fees or spoil any school property. If not found guilty, you will be authorized to go to the world and explore with the knowledge impacted that is NYSC.

Steps on How to do your Final Year Clearance for NYSC in UNIPORT

Step One:

Make sure you have cleared all courses that is you have written all carry over courses; if any or you have passed all courses or waved the ones you could (maximum of 2).

Confirm if your name is on the Department Graduating List – This proves that department have approved that you passed all courses or you have cleared all courses

Step Two:

Go to Finance Offices for your Passbook

If you have not been signing your Passbook since your first year in the school, you would be required to pay the sum of N2,000 after generating remita.

Then the sum of 8,000 would be paid for it to be signed – this is for those that have not been doing it for long. Though the amount differs for some departments

Submit along side the remita receipt, your school fees receipt from year one to final year.

The finance office will get it sign and give it back to you.

Step Three:

After approval of your department graduating list by Senate. You can officially start your clearance.

Go to your Faculty to collect Clearance Form. This form will be signed by the officers in charge.

Start from your Department through your HOD to sign on it. Then to your Faculty Officer (Dean), before you get to Alumni.

Generate remita (Convocation Pack) N66,000 for some departments that undergoes SIWES and below class of U2016. Class of U2016 upwards pays the sum of N46,000 which comprises payment for Convocation Pack, Convocation Gown, Brochure, Library Clearance and Alumni.

Other departments that does not do SIWES, pays N46,000 notwithstanding the class.

Proceed to Library then to Bursary Office at Senate for your clearance. This is where the Passbook would be required as well as the Convocation Pack Remita receipt. Once you get cleared you can move to the next phase.

Step Four:

Go to Senate for your Certificate – You are expected to present your clearance form duly signed by all and your school ID card. Once this is done, the certificate will handed over to you as far as your set is ready.

Step Five:

NYSC Mobilization

Pay the Sum of N2500 at U&C Microfinance Bank for NYSC Mobilization.

Then go to Student Affairs for NYSC Mobilization

You are expected to go along with your Certificate, Clearance Form, Passport photograph, Dashboard, Jamb Admission Letter with Bar Code and receipt of the mobilization fee paid.

NYSC Registration

This stage is where you register for NYSC and serve your fatherland with joy
