These teachers to be employed are to help boost the standard of education in Rivers state. This was disclosed to Views Media.
Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja, the Commissioner of Education, Rivers State stated that the main aim of the 10,000 teachers recruitment is to curb the rate of unemployment in the state; at least for the young and old graduates to have beneficial things to do. He affirmed that this is part of Rivers State Governor, Barr. Nyesom Wike vision in his administration to reposition the state educationally and also curb the rate of unemployment among youths in the state.

The state, Rivers State is very much ready to employ 10,000 teachers in the state educational board as affirmed by Dr. Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja. He further said that the state Ministry of Education is ready for this massive Job recruitment of about 10,000 new teachers and is only waiting for final approval of the state governor, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike.

The job is not only for academic staff, other non academic and auxiliary staff will also be recruited. This shows how serious the Government wants to upgrade the standard of Rivers state Education.
The recruitment exercise for 10,000 Rivers state Teachers is slated to commence from next academic session, September 2018.
