For this problem, there is a new whatsapp feature that enables you to see the pictures and videos ONLY in the group chats, without saving them to your phone.

Steps on how to see the pictures and videos ONLY in the Group Chats without Downloading them to your phone

Please follow below steps for the same:

• Click on 3 dots shown on the right top corner in the group.
• Click on the first option i.e. GROUP INFO
• Three options are shown below the group name i.e. mute notifications, custom notifications, and Media visibility.
• Click on the third option, i.e. MEDIA VISIBILITY
• Click on “No” option, then click OK.

Henceforth, the media will no longer be saved in your phone. But it will be accessible in your group chats.

NOTE: This is an update feature released by WhatsApp on 5th November, 2018. So if your WhatsApp is not up to date it will not work. You can as well do same for individual chats with all your contacts.
