NCC to Block SIM Cards of MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9mobile and others without NIN – As an order from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to all telecommunictions to block all SIM Cards without National Identity Number (NIN), the implementation date has been announced. What makes this announcement or decision by NCC more serious is their warning to Network Providers of withdrawing their licence and imposing heavy penalty on any that fails to comply with their decision as instructed.
This announcement was made on Monday, December 14, 2020 to the hearing of everyone.
According to the Director of Public Affairs of the NCC, Dr Ikechukwu Adinde, he noted that “following the earlier directive on the suspension of new SIM registration by network operators, the Honourable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Ibrahim (Pantami) convened an urgent meeting of key stakeholders in the Communications industry on Monday, December 14, 2020.”
The Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) instructs all network providers to block all SIMs without National Identification Numbers (NIN) in two weeks.
All SIM Cards are inclusive in this; MTN, Airtel, GLO, 9mobile and others
For your SIM Card not to be blocked, you ought to register your SIM Card with your National ID Card
National Identification Number can be gotten when you register for National ID in any NIMC Centre or office close to you.
Note: There is need to update your SIM Card to be on a safer side and for it not to be blocked; do well to act according to the instructions of NCC. You may lose important contacts if your lines are banned or blocked.
